12-year-old shot while riding scooter on West Side

A 12-year-old boy was shot while riding a scooter early Sunday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The boy was riding a scooter in the 2100 block of South Pulaski about 12:15 a.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, police said.

He was shot in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
