The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Web Editor in the Chicago office, located in the O'Hare corridor and easily accessible by public transportation.
This position will oversee the written and visual content of the PCI website, www.pciaa.net, with the related goals of improving website users' experience and helping to increase traffic to the site.
The Web Site Editor works with content providers both within and outside the organization to gather and present the most useful, accurate and up-to-date information for PCI members.
PCI represents the broadest cross section of insurers of any national trade association with nearly 1,000 member companies. Be a part of talented team providing PCI members with valuable information and services.
•Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal content providers at all levels of the organization as well as external content providers.
•Monitor editorial quality with a keen eye for detail. Ensure that information presented on the PCI website is presented in a consistent style and voice and aligns with larger organizational messaging goals.
•Produce original website content that combines ideas and themes from various constituencies throughout the organization.
•Work with content providers to identify and promote issues or events of interest to PCI members on the site within tight deadlines.
•Ensure consistency and effectiveness of the graphical presentations on the site.
•Work with CMS software and meetings management software that integrate with the PCI website.
•Monitor traffic to the PCI website.
•Seek ways to improve the website users' experience.
Previous experience in a Web-related position, ideally as a web editor, with an understanding of the particular requirements of writing for the web such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks, navigation and the importance of brevity.
Strong editorial background, including a bachelor's degree in English, journalism or communications.
