Chatham shooting: Woman struck in head on Chicago's South Side

A 41-year-old woman was shot in the head Tuesday morning on Chicago's South Side.

Around 9:38 a.m., police say the female victim was inside a vehicle in the 200 block of W. 87th St. when she was struck in the head by gunfire.

She was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition, police said.

According to Alderman Ronnie Moseley's office, the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident.

Nobody was reported in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
