A 17-year-old boy was arrested this week in connection to two armed robberies that occurred in Chicago last year.

The teen faces two felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance.

What we know:

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Dec. 5, 2024, in the 4000 block of West Maypole, when the teen allegedly robbed a 23-year-old woman at gunpoint.

Police noted that other offenders were involved in the robbery.

In addition to the Dec. 5 robbery, the teen also faces charges in connection to the Dec. 14, 2024, armed robbery of a 19-year-old man in the 400 block of South Laramie.

Police arrested the teen on Wednesday and charged him accordingly.

What we don't know:

Police did not provide the teen's name as he is charged as a juvenile. It remains unclear if other offenders have been charged in these crimes.
