Chicago police release new details in officer-involved shooting
Chicago police say an officer's gun discharged during a struggle with a suspect accused of having a stolen vehicle on the West Side early Tuesday.
CHICAGO - The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened early Tuesday morning on Chicago's West Side after an officer's weapon discharged during a struggle with a suspect, according to Chicago police.

What we know:
COPA said investigators responded to the scene of an officer-involved shooting near 2600 S. Drake in the North Lawndale neighborhood just before 4 a.m.
According to Chicago police, officers were attempting to take a man into custody for having a stolen vehicle.
Police said the man attempted to disarm an officer during the arrest, and the officer's weapon discharged during the encounter.
Authorities said no one was struck by gunfire.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, where they were listed in fair condition.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with minor injuries.
