Chicago crime: 2 women shot dead in South Side alley, 1 critically wounded
CHICAGO - Two women were killed and another was critically wounded in an alleyway shooting Tuesday morning in the South Shore neighborhood.
What we know:
Just before 5 a.m., police officers found three women suffering from gunshot wounds in an alley in the 7700 block of South Oglesby Avenue, according to CPD.
Two of the women who had been shot in the head were pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified them as 37-year-old Oriana M. Rodriguez Perez and 39-year-old Yeris Norelis Jimenez Castillo, of Chicago.
The third victim suffered gunshot wounds to the face and chest. She was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.
All of the victims were believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, police said. There were no other reported injuries.
No arrests have been made. Area Two detectives are investigating.
What we don't know:
The circumstances around the shooting were unclear. Police did not say how many suspects they believe were involved in the shooting.
