Chicago woman charged with murder in infant’s death, police say

A Chicago woman has been charged in the death of an infant in November 2024.

Arrest in Infant's Murder

What we know:

Tamyra Anderson, 20, faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of causing death or injury with strong probability, according to Chicago police.

She was arrested Feb. 5 in the 1500 block of South Millard Avenue.

Police said Anderson is responsible for the death of a 5-month-old boy, who was found unresponsive Nov. 21, 2024, in the same block. The infant later died from his injuries.

What's next:

Anderson is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8 for a detention hearing.
