Comedian stirs controversy by claiming fat shaming is not real
A video by comedian Nicole Arbour titled, "Dear Fat People" has gone viral by its controversial stance that fat shaming is not real. "Fat shaming is not a thing. Fat people made that up," she says in the video. "That's a race card with no race." She also calls for people to stop eating if they're too fat.
She says she's not calling out people who are overweight due to medical conditions, but several critics, calling Arbour's video a bullying rant, have pointed out that no one can tell why a person is overweight merely by looking at them.
Arbour's video has more than 20 million views on Facebook. Her YouTube channel was shut down momentarily after the video was posted. Arbour says on her Facebook page, when her YouTube account was restored, all her videos were gone.
