Cyclist dies after being hit by dump truck on Near West Side

CHICAGO (FOX 32/Sun-Times Media Wire) - A woman was fatally struck by a dump truck while riding a bicycle Thursday morning on the Near West Side, authorities said.

About 7:10 a.m., 39-year-old Angela Park was riding the bike north on Halsted at Madison when she was hit by a dump truck making a right turn, according to Chicago police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said. An autopsy Friday ruled her death accidental.
