Man, 68, shot in chest in West Town

A 68-year-old man was shot in the chest on Chicagos West Side late Thursday afternoon.

CHICAGO - A 68-year-old man was shot in the chest on Chicago's West Side late Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:45 p.m., police say the male victim was near an alley in the 1400 block of N. Elk Grove when he was approached by an unknown offender who pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Nobody was reported in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
