Man fatally struck by vehicle on Dan Ryan on South Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday evening on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side.
Corinthian P. McClary, 30, was in the center lane of traffic at 8:16 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle in the local lanes of northbound Interstate 94 near 33rd Street, according to Illinois State Police. Investigators could not say why he was in the lane at the time of the crash.
McClary, who lived in the Cottage Grove Heights neighborhood on the South Side, was pronounced dead at 8:58 p.m. at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy Friday did not immediately rule on the cause and manner of his death pending further investigation.
The vehicle that hit him drove away after the crash, state police said. Traffic in the local lanes was diverted off to 35th Street while authorities investigated, but all lanes were reopened by 9:50 p.m.
