Man found dead in West Suburban library

A man was found dead in the west suburban Oak Park Public Library Monday morning.

At 10:30 a.m., a security person found the man dead in a locked, single-use bathroom on the library’s third floor at 834 Lake St., according to a statement from Oak Park Public Library’s Executive Director David Seleb.

Oak Park police said there was no evidence of violence or foul play.

The library’s main floor was closed to the public for about two hours. No additional closures are expected.

“This tragedy has shocked all of us,” Seleb said in the statement.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office had not released the man’s name as of Tuesday morning.
