CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was injured and ten residents were displaced after a fire early Thursday in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood.

Crews were called to the blaze in a two-and-a-half-story building in the 2400 block of South Pulaski about 3:30 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva. The fire, which was on the first and second floors, was extinguished by about 3:40 a.m.

Two men were rescued from the second floor in the rear of the home, Roccasalva said. One of them refused medical attention, while the other was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair-to-serious condition to be treated for smoke inhalation.

A total of three children and seven adults were displaced in the fire, according to Roccasalva. The cause remained under investigation Thursday morning.
