Man in serious condition after being shot in Austin apartment by someone he knew

CHICAGO - A 27-year-old man was shot in Austin on the West Side.

About 2:05 p.m. he was inside an apartment in the 1000 block of North Leamington Avenue, when someone he knew pulled out a handgun and shot him, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
