Man critically wounded in Near West Side shooting

CHICAGO - A man was shot and critically wounded Monday night on Chicago's Near West Side.

Several passersby found the 20-year-old lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the body in the 200 block of South Hamilton Street, police said.

Paramedics took the victim to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

There is no one in custody. Area Three detectives are investigating.
