Officer ‘bonds immediately' with baby found in deplorable conditions
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Cobb County Police shared a touching photo on Facebook of an officer going above and beyond the call of duty to comfort an upset baby.
Police were called to an Efficiency motel in Cobb County where five children were found inside one of the units, living in deplorable conditions. Police said there was open drug use, needles left on the floor and trash throughout the apartment.
Police said the children inside the unit were being deprived of basic needs.
One of the responding officers, Officer Zander, noticed one child was crying on the floor, clearly upset. So, Officer Zander decided to pick the small baby up and held him until the Cobb County Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) arrived.
"They bonded immediately," Cobb County Police said on Facebook.
Police arrested two adults inside the home.
"These kinds of dispatches have a lasting effect on the officers involved," said Cobb County Police.
