Police officer rescues fawn from busy Ohio highway
CINCINNATI, Ohio (FOX 13) - A police officer came to the rescue of a little creature in need this week.
Cincinnati Police said an officer spotted a little fawn that decided to take a stroll on the busy Columbia Parkway Highway.
Fearing for the fawn's safety the officer pulled over on the shoulder of the road and his body camera captured the rescue.
Another officer, meanwhile, provided back-up as the first responder got out of his cruiser, which was now partially blocking a lane of traffic.
With oncoming cars flying by, the officer walked around his cruiser, scooped up the crying fawn, which was now blocked in between the vehicle and the highway wall, and placed it in his vehicle.
The fawn, not realizing the officer was there to help – not hurt – screamed the cutest little fawn scream as the officer shut the door behind him.
“It’s okay, baby. It’s okay,” the officer told the fawn as he set it down.
The officer said he took the fawn to the woods, hoping it would reunite with its mother.
