Razor blades found on Huntsville playground slides

Police have made the terrifying discovery of razor blades planted at Huntsville playgrounds.

They say a heating device is being used to melt portions of the plastic slides and razor blades are then inserted into the melted surface.

The City of Huntsville Parks and Leisure Department routinely inspects the playground equipment and found the razor blades on July 6.

George Perry lives near Emancipation Park and has lived in Huntsville all his life.

He was shocked to hear about the disturbing act of vandalism.

"It's a shame kids can't basically come out here and have fun without being in danger," Perry said.

The city is now installing cameras at the parks to help identify suspects.

Injury to a child is a third-degree felony charge.
