Reindeer Games are afoot at Headquarters Beercade for the holidays
Reindeer Games is a pop-up that's back for the holiday season and it's spreading a bunch of joy at Headquarters Beercade.
CHICAGO - Already a hot spot for pinball and video games, the River North arcade bar Headquarters Beercade has a holiday pop-up.
"Reindeer Games" is back for a ninth year, offering fun photo ops and activities for groups big and small.
"We have six photo ops, we have sleighs, we have naughty and nice chairs, ski lifts, hugging bears and over 1,000 feet of lights. There’s a lot going on," said co-owner Brian Galati.
While they are known for a unique and rotating selection of draft beers, the pop-up is also serving seasonal cocktails.
"Three beautiful holiday concoctions," said Aneka Saxon, Beverage Director. "First, is the HQ Eggnog, a very classic drink. It has a spiced frosting on the rim, which gives it a nice toasty, very comforting, sort of quality," she said.
There’s also a whiskey and cinnamon cocktail with a pomegranate liquor called Not the Gumdrop Buttons.
"And ‘Up to Snow Good’ because aren’t we just," said Saxon. "It’s sort of a peppermint martini if you will, with a Ghirardelli chocolate square."
The bar is open 365 days a year. Over the holidays, Galati said it offers a break from family gatherings.
"We’ve been doing this nine years now. And we’ll be keeping it open till the end of January. It’s great for corporate parties great for those last-minute parties. We’re still booking, so if you’re the person who was supposed to book the party, but forgot, let us know, we’ll slide you in."
