Six Flags Great America makes good on bet, renames theme park and ride

Six Flags Great America in Gurnee has made good on their bet with their sister park, Six Flags Great Adventure, where they agreed to rename the park and a ride if the Cubs lost.

Well, unfortunately, Six Flags Great America will be known as Six Flags Great Mets and the world’s tallest, steepest and fastest wooden roller coaster, Goliath, will be known as GoMets for the remainder of Fright Fest.

“We were so confident that this was the year for the Chicago Cubs that we amped up our wager with Six Flags Great Adventure,” said park president, Hank Salemi. “Unfortunately, we will have to bear these two shameful renames of our park and roller coaster for the remaining weekends of Fright Fest. There’s always 2016.”
