Suspected car thief arrested after being tracked by K-9
MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A K-9 with the Marion County Sheriff's Office was instrumental in the apprehension of a suspected car thief. The Sheriff's Office on Friday released video of a pursuit that took place on Nov. 11.
Robert Wade Hardister, 26, was arrested after being tracked by Deputy Matt Hooper and his K-9 partner, "Rambo."
Deputies said Hardister was driving a stolen vehicle out of Putnam County. They said the jumped out of the 2005 Hyundai when he saw deputies near him.
Deputy Hooper and "Rambo" tracked the Hardister to the 500th block of SE 35 Place, where he surrendered.
Hardister was book into the Marion County Jail. He is charged with grand theft auto.
