2 teens accused of carjacking man on Chicago’s North Side

Two teenagers were arrested and charged in connection with an armed carjacking of a man on Chicago’s North Side on Sunday night.

Chicago police said David Brantley, 18, and Tayvon Andrews, 18, took a car at gunpoint from a 25-year-old man in the 800 block of West Blackhawk Street around 9 p.m.

Around 9:45 p.m., the two were arrested in the first block of West 87th Street on the city’s South Side.

Brantley, of Hazel Crest, was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking, aggravated fleeing, receiving/possessing a stolen vehicle, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

Andrews, of Chicago, was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking, receiving/possessing a stolen vehicle, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

They are scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on Monday.
