Trump says he won't use force to acquire Greenland

While speaking at the  at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Wednesday, President Trump said he won’t use force to acquire Greenland. 

President Donald Trump spoke Wednesday in Switzerland at the World Economic Forum. 

Big picture view:

His remarks come as tensions with European leaders have been rising over Greenland, the assembly of his Gaza peace board, and his threat of tariffs. Many high-profile European leaders also attended the forum, and it was standing room only inside the hall where Trump was delivering his much-anticipated speech.

Trump reaffirmed his desire to control Greenland, saying he was seeking "immediate negotiations" to acquire the island.

Speaking for more than 70 minutes, he also touted economic growth in the U.S. and his year-one achievements in office.

The president finished his speech by congratulating the people in the room for all their successes and declared that the U.S. is "back, bigger, stronger, better than ever before."

"I’ll see you around," he said.
