ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - Two Tucson, Arizona, TV personalities pleaded not guilty to drug and child abuse charges after tests revealed there was cocaine in their baby's system.
The couple, 26-year-old Krystin Lisaius and husband Somchai Lisaius were in court on Monday.
Oro Valley police said they were indicted on charges of possession of a dangerous drug, drug paraphernalia and child abuse on June 9.
Krystin Lisaius worked at KGUN-TV, but her employment status now is unclear. Somchai Lisaius was a reporter for Tucson News Now, but no longer works there, according to the station.
Lt. Kara Riley said the baby was taken to the hospital on May 15 after being breastfed and appearing to be in distress. Testing revealed cocaine in the four-month-old's body.
The baby is living with a relative.
Michael Piccarreta, the couple's attorney, said they are "in the midst of putting their lives back together."
Piccarreta said the situation is difficult, and that a mistake was made.
He said the two are good, loving parents.
"They just want to have their family back together."
