A gas station in Chicago and a liquor store in Oak Forest each sold a winning $1 million ticket in the Friday, October 19, drawing.

The first winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at BP, 6500 S. Kedzie Ave., in Chicago, and matched all five numbers – 15 - 23 - 53 - 65 - 70 – to win the prize. The second winning Quick Pick ticket also matched all five numbers and was sold at Stop N Go Liquor, 5214 159th St., in Oak Forest. Each retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the Lottery’s five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.

More than 508,700 players won prizes ranging from $2 to $1,000,000 in this Mega Millions drawing. Nationwide, the draw for the historic $1 billion jackpot produced 12,446,690 winning tickets, including 15 $1 million dollar winners. The estimated jackpot for Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw is a world-record breaking $1.6 billion.
