UNIQLO's first Midwest store opens in Chicago

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Exciting news for those of you who love to shop - a new major retailer is opening it's doors on Michigan Avenue.

UNIQLO is a popular Japanese casual fashion retailer with an avid global following. The retailer is opening it's first store in the Midwest, and lucky for us Chicagoans, it will be located right downtown!

The 60,000 square foot store will be located on three floors in the former Filene's Basement space at 830 N. Michigan Ave. It will be the largest of the retailer's U.S. stores, except for the New York flagship on Fifth Avenue.

A grand opening event is planned for Friday, October 23. UNIQLO's Chicago grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony will kick off with a 10 minute performance by the Tsukasa Taiko Troupe and will be followed by various keynote speeches.

A ribbon cutting will take place right before the doors officially open at 11 a.m. Click here to learn more about Chicago's newest retailer!
