UPDATE: A family dog that went missing over two weeks ago after being ejected during a car accident has been found safe.

Zoey was found Monday morning about a mile from Hairy Mosquito Trading Company in Milaca, Minnesota. A homeowner in the area spotted him on Sunday morning and called the Ahlgren's (Zoey's owners) who were able to go lay out food and blankets and hope for Zoey's return.

He was found laying on the blankets Monday morning and the homeowner was able to get him on a leash.

Zoey went missing on Nov. 18

On Nov. 19, Maria Ahlgren shared a post on Facebook that said her dad was in a terrible car accident on highway 169 between Onamia and Milaca and his vehicle was hit by a semi-truck, which caused him to spin and roll into a ditch. Thankfully, Ahlgren’s father is okay, but his dog, Zoey was ejected from the rear window and is still missing.

According to Mille Lacs County Animal Control, Zoey was last seen on Nov. 18 near The Hairy Mosquito Trading Company in Milaca.

Sightings of Zoey can be reported to The Retrievers at 612-419-0283 or the Mille Lacs County Animal Control at 320-492-5865.
