Watch party planned at Old St. Pat's for Pope's historic speech

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - The Pope's historic visit continues Thursday morning when he becomes the first Pontiff in history to address Congress. And Thursday morning, dozens of people gathered together in Chicago to watch the event.

On Thursday, Pope Francis plans to deliver the first papal address ever to Congress, speaking to Republican-majority legislators deeply at odds with Obama on many of the same issues the leaders addressed at the White House.

Chicago Catholics will gather at Old St. Patrick’s Church Thursday to watch Pope Francis’ historic address to Congress. Hundreds of Chicagoans are expected to turn out for the historic event. 

The watch party will be followed by a press conference by local clergy members to comment on the pope’s address.
