Whiting gears up for 2015 Pierogi Fest

Mister Pierogi will once again preside in a regal manner Friday night for The Polka Parade in Whiting, Ind. Friday's event marks the official kickoff for the city's 2015 Pierogi Fest!

More than 300,000 potato-stuffed pasta lovers are expected to attend the event between Friday and Sunday. The festival runs from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Each year, the event takes you back to a time when grandmas still wore babushkas and helped their little grandchildren make their very own pierogis! Aside from the parade and entertainment, the Pierogi Fest also features a songfest and pierogi toss,
