Chicago Bears select DT Goldman of FSU with 39th pick

The Chicago Bears attempted to bolster a reconstructed defense Friday by selecting Florida State defensive tackle Eddie Goldman in the second round of the NFL draft.

Goldman, chosen with the 39th pick announced by former Bears great Dick Butkus in downtown Chicago, is 6-foot-4, 336 pounds and is a nose tackle picked to anchor the middle of the team's new 3-4 defense.

Goldman had 35 tackles, including eight for loss, and four sacks last season.
