Chicago weather: Cold but dry for Super Bowl Sunday

Mike Caplan has your Friday morning weather update!

Friday will be a quiet day with seasonable temperatures, reaching around 32 degrees.

The first of two storm systems arrives Saturday, bringing a mix of light precipitation, including possible freezing drizzle and snow.

No significant snow accumulation is expected, but areas near the I-80 corridor could see up to an inch.

Looking Ahead:

Super Bowl Sunday travel conditions look good with partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures near freezing.

A second storm system could bring more widespread snowfall Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Cold temperatures will settle in next week, with highs mainly in the 20s.

While this week will bring colder temperatures and occasional snow, no major storms are expected at this time.
