Celebrating Chinese New Year with the Yum Dum Food Truck

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It is officially the year of the monkey! Today marks the start of the Chinese New Year that runs until January 27, 2017.

Each Chinese New Year is characterized by one of 12 animals that appear in the Chinese zodiac.

People born in the year of the monkey are described as lively, quick-witted, curious, innovative and mischievous. But be warned, it is also believed to be one of the most unlucky years in the Chinese calendar.

Jeff Wong, chief dumpling engineer at the Yum Dum Food Truck joined us LIVE on GDC to tell us more about the Chinese new year and the customs that surround it.
