Sun-Times reporter deep dives into root causes of Chicago violence

CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - With kids being out of school and more people being outside, the summer months are particularly violent in Chicago.

In this May alone, there were 19 more murders and 51 more shootings than the same month last year.

Sun-Times Urban Affairs reporter Maudlyne Ihejirika joins Good Day Chicago to talk about the issue of violence in the Windy City and what kind of solutions could ease tension within the city.
