2 women injured after accidental shooting in Loop

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Two women were injured in an accidental shooting Friday morning in the Loop.

A 24-year-old man was showing a gun to someone shortly after 10 a.m. in the 100 block of East Wacker when it fell and accidentally went off, injuring two women in their legs, according to Chicago Police.

CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi initially said that the women had been grazed in the shooting, but police later said it was not clear whether they suffered graze wounds or were injured by debris.

They were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with injuries that Guglielmi said were not thought to be life-threatening.
