(Fox 32 News) - Merry Christmas to the 25,000 bugs living in your Christmas tree.

That's how many tiny critters could be living inside just one Christmas tree, according to the organic gardening and pest control company Safer Brand.

They say that most are not dangerous and will die pretty much as soon as you carry the tree into your house.

But among the ones that live, the most common will be aphids, spiders, mites, adelgids, praying mantises, bark beetles and sawflies.

They recommend examining your tree before buying it for bug nests, leaving it in the garage for a few days after purchase, and shaking it out over a white sheet to dislodge and identify any bugs.
