3-year-old boy shot in Woodlawn

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -- A 3-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in the shoulder during a drive-by shooting. Devon Quinn was struck while riding in a vehicle Sunday evening in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

About 6:15 p.m., he was riding in a vehicle in the 6100 block of South Kimbark when another vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

Quinn’s mother said her son was with his father at the time of the shooting. Sources said the intended target was in a different car in front of the father and son.

The boy was shot in the right shoulder, and the driver took him to University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. He was transferred to Comer’s Children’s Hospital in critical condition where he was in stable condition according to his mother.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
