Attempted bank robbery reported in Chicago Heights

Someone tried to rob a bank Wednesday afternoon in south suburban Chicago Heights.

The non-takeover robbery attempt happened about 2 p.m. at the TCF Bank branch at 601 W. 14th St. in Chicago Heights, according to the FBI.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black winter vest, red sweatshirt, black sunglasses, light-colored jeans and a black hat, the FBI said. No weapon was shown during the attempt.
