Babies born at Chicago-area hospitals to get red hats
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It's called "Little Hats, Big Hearts."
All this month, babies born at 25 Chicago area hospitals will get little red hats to wear. The hats are made by volunteers across the state.
It's all part of the American Heart Association's program to raise awareness of congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in the country.
Cristina Newton, whose daughter received a hat last year, and Dr. Andrew Van Bergen from Advocate Children's Heart Institute, joined us LIVE on FOX 32 News at Noon with more on the program.
