Bicyclist fatally struck by car in Humboldt Park identified

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A bicyclist who was fatally struck by a car last week in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side has been identified.
At 10:38 p.m. Wednesday, a Chevrolet Cruze was going north on Sacramento when the car struck a 34-year-old man riding a bicycle westbound on Division, according to Chicago Police.
Jezniah Smith was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:25 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Smith lived in the 2300 block of North Spaulding.
The driver of the Cruze, a 36-year-old man, stayed at the scene of the crash, police said. No citations have been issued.
The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
