Boy, 14, arrested in connection with armed carjackings, robberies
CHICAGO - A 14-year-old boy has been charged with four felonies in connection with multiple carjackings and robberies on the North and Northwest Sides last summer.
Chicago police said the teen was taken into custody Tuesday in the 500 block of West Dresser Road in DeKalb after he was identified as one of the people involved in the crimes.
The incidents occurred:
- on June 29 in the 3700 block of North Clark Street in Wrigleyville;
- on June 30 in the 5100 block of West Dakin Street in Portage Park;
- on June 30 in the 5200 block of West Fullerton Avenue in Cragin.
The victims' ages ranged between 36 and 44-years-old, police said.
The teen has been charged with two felony counts of armed vehicular hijacking and robbery with a firearm, according to officials.
