Burglary suspect steals cop car in ill-fated getaway attempt

MOUNT PLEASANT, South Carolina (Fox 32 News) - A South Carolina burglary suspect tried to get away from police in a squad car.

Mount Pleasant Police said they arrested Philip Sprouse and put him in the back of the cruiser. He got into the front and made a break for it.

Sprouse did not get far. He crashed in a nearby ditch.

He is facing charges of burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.
