4 injured after car crashes into Culver's restaurant in Morton Grove

A car plowed into a Culver's restaurant in Morton Grove Monday.

At about 3:49 p.m., Morton Grove police responded to Culver's located at 7310 Dempster Street for a report of a car crashing into the building.

A 2008 Toyota Sedan that was traveling westbound on Dempster Street left the roadway and struck the building, police said.

The car ended up inside the dining room and caused significant damage to the building.

Four customers, who were inside the restaurant at the time, were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

The driver, a 79-year-old woman from Mount Prospect, was not injured.

She was cited for improper lane usage and given a court date.

The franchise owner Kim Struzynski was on-site Monday evening to assess the damage.

She provided the following statement to FOX 32 Chicago:

"We can confirm there was a car accident at the Culver’s in Morton Grove. Our top concern is the safety of our guests, our team and the driver. Our understanding is that none of the injuries are serious and for that we are grateful. We are working with the authorities and do not have additional information to share beyond what they have already released."
