Cat rescued from Lincoln Park apartment fire

A cat was rescued after a fire erupted in a Lincoln Park apartment building Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 5 p.m., firefighters responded to the 2800 block of North Racine for a call of heavy smoke and flames.

A cat was rescued from the first floor of the building and was reunited with its owner.

All occupants were accounted for, and no injuries were reported.

CFD continued to chase hot spots into the evening.
