Video shows burglary suspect wanted for breaking into Chicago businesses, stealing cash
CHICAGO - The Chicago Police Department is searching for a suspect who broke into several businesses and stole money from the cash registers in the month of January.
What we know:
In each incident, a person forcibly entered a business by breaking a front glass window or door. Once inside, they stole money from the cash registers.
The incidents occurred at the following dates and locations:
- 5000 block of West Irving Park Road on Jan. 16 at 3:26 a.m.
- 2500 block of North Lincoln Avenue on Jan. 17 at 4:10 a.m.
- 2600 block of North Lincoln Avenue on Jan. 17 at 4:14 a.m.
- 2400 block of North Lincoln Avenue on Jan. 17, 2025 at 5:40 a.m.
- 2800 block of North Sheffield Avenue on Jan. 17 or Jan. 18 between 8 p.m. and 6:33 a.m.
- 2900 block of North Broadway Street on Jan. 18 between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.
- 4300 block of North Elston Avenue on Jan. 20 or Jan. 21 between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
- 4000 block of North Elston Avenue on Jan. 21 at 4:34 a.m.
- 3600 block of West Irving Park Road on Jan. 21 at 4:57 a.m.
Suspect Information:
Chicago police described the suspect as a man wearing a black hat, black gloves, a mask, dark clothing and a black backpack.
