Chicago man charged in 2023 West Side murder, armed robbery
CHICAGO - Chicago police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a fatal shooting that took place on the city’s West Side in 2023.
Latrell Dixon Jordan, 25, was taken into custody on Feb. 3 in the 1300 block of West Roosevelt Road and is facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder and armed robbery.
What we know:
Authorities say Jordan was involved in the May 17, 2023, shooting that left a 28-year-old man dead in the 5400 block of West Ferdinand Street in the Austin neighborhood.
Officers responding to the scene around 11:30 p.m. found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness reported that an unidentified male approached the victim’s vehicle and shot him before fleeing on foot. A 21-year-old woman was also robbed at gunpoint during the incident, police said.
Jordan was identified as a suspect during the investigation and was arrested nearly two years after the shooting.
