Chicago man charged with selling cocaine in Naperville

A months-long investigation led to the arrest of a Chicago man accused of selling cocaine in west suburban Naperville, police announced Monday.

The backstory:

Deonte Bell, 23, was charged with one count of armed violence and two counts of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, police said.

The two-month-long investigation was led by members of the Naperville Police Department's Special Operations Group.

Bell was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly sold cocaine in Naperville on two separate occasions, according to Naperville police. During his arrest, Bell was in possession of cocaine and a loaded handgun, police said.

Bell, of Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood, is being held at DuPage County Jail.
