Chicago police release video in search for gunman in deadly Near West Side shooting
CHICAGO - Chicago police are searching for the person responsible for a deadly shooting that took place in the Near West Side neighborhood last year.
The incident happened in broad daylight, leaving one person dead and an infant wounded.
What we know:
Chicago police say the victims were traveling northbound in the 2400 block of South Oakley Boulevard in a red sedan when someone opened fire into their vehicle at about 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2024.
The shooting resulted in the death of one individual, while a 7-month-old baby was also struck by gunfire.
Investigators have identified a blue, four-door Dodge Charger as the suspect's vehicle. Police have released surveillance footage of the car and are asking the public for help in identifying the shooter.
What we don't know:
Authorities have not provided a possible motive for the attack.
