Chicagoan who works on 'Empire' helps scout locations: 'It's a lot of fun'

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - ‘Empire’ has given a ton of Chicagoans jobs, and one of them is a Columbia graduate who helps with picking the places in Chicago where the TV show shoots.

Meet Adam Sherman: "It’s a lot of fun.”

Sherman, who’s a Chicago area native, has literally worked his way up. It started with his classmates at Columbia College Chicago.

“When it came time for big things like Divergent, and Transformers or TV shows, then I kinda came along as well,” Sherman said.

He started as a production assistant and coffee runner, and one day heard about helping to pick and prep locations for Empire.

"Chicago is really diverse in terms of its architecture and what it has to offer, even out in the suburbs,” he said. "We’ve been to the Hilton downtown. We’ve used them two seasons in a row."

"I feel like I’ve really learned a lot,” Sherman added.
