Choir sings to soldier escorting body of WWII veteran
HOUSTON, Texas. - A woman on a flight from Germany captured the heartwarming moments a choir paid tribute to a veteran whose body was being flown back to the United States.
Diane Cupp said there was an Army private on the plane escorting the remains of a WWII soldier back home to Houston.
Cupp said the pilot announced that the soldier would be exiting the plane first.
As he got up to leave, Cupp said a group of young people from a choir group in Iowa, who had been on tour in Europe, began to sing the Battle Hymn of the Republic to him. "Listen how beautiful!!" Cupp wrote on her page. "Will bring a tear to your eye."
Cupp said it was one of the most respectful things she had ever seen coming from a group of high school students.
