Cook County man allegedly shot, critically wounded another man on West Side

A Cook County man is accused of shooting another man in West Garflied Park last year. 

What we know:

James Garcia, 44, of Calumet City, has been charged with one felony count of first-degree attempted murder, according to police.

Authorities say Garcia struck and critically injured a 49-year-old man on Nov. 6, 2024, in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road.

Garcia was arrested on Wednesday in the 3000 block of South Sacramento Avenue. 

He was placed in custody and charged accordingly.

What we don't know:

Authorities have not released a mugshot of the suspect or details about what led to the November attack.

What's next:

James Garcia is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
